SuzhouBOE Hospital

BOE Hospital

Suzhou BOE Hospital was designed as a comprehensive public hospital integrating medical, scientific research, teaching, preventive and health care functions. It is planned to have 1,000 approved beds, which is one of the most important livelihood projects that radiate Wujiang District and even the surrounding areas of Suzhou.

Although the project is located within the scope of the regular land, there is no common form of parallel arrangement in the traditional land. On the one hand, the plan adopts the "S"-shaped mass twisting method to form two large square spaces inside and outside the site: a main entrance plaza that surrounds it. And a quiet and pleasant administrative research institute, while solving the dynamic and static partitions, it also creates a pleasant architectural space experience for users of different attributes. The internal site is quiet and private, which brings users the experience of being immersed in the garden space; the public and open external plaza facilitates the rapid relief of high-density traffic and relieves the tension of the medical crowd. On the other hand, the individual units are organized organically through the green platform running through the north and south, and connected by ramps to guide the crowd to reach them conveniently, providing all users in the park with a sunny outdoor garden space with a landscape walkway. In this way, on the premise of ensuring the efficient and convenient medical process, the pressure of the building volume was successfully reduced, and a multi-functional walking flow line integrating rehabilitation, rest and communication was provided for patients and medical workers, and served as a landscape corridor and Ecological platforms continue to create social and economic benefits.

Different from the common hospital image, this project pays more attention to how to build an affinity hospital image under the premise of ensuring the medical process, and create a natural and relaxing medical atmosphere. The design adopts design methods such as courtyards and light wells in the public space, so that medical behaviors are related to the natural environment and provide a restrained healing space.
