Bagualing Urban Renewal

The most prominent problem in the Bagualing area is the original economic orientation, closed and fragmented, inelastic, loss of power, and extensive and inefficient planning. In response to these four points, the design proposed four major design strategies for the renewal of the Bagualing area: global weaving, three-dimensional linking, multiple mixing, and villages below 24 meters.

Put the Bagualing area into the urban area for consideration, draw on resources such as the external landscape, housing, and supporting facilities, and open up the urban-level public space system. Breaking away from the past "single partition" thinking, each area's functions and business formats are mixed in multiple dimensions to create a four-in-one functional system of innovation and entrepreneurship, commerce, industry, and community. Exploring "psychological landmarks" rather than visual landmarks and creating a human-oriented life and comfortable experience are important considerations for making future cities better. The design team divided the podium in the area, breaking the original large podium street wall pattern, creating a roaming path under the building and seamless connection between the courtyard and the public space system, and the car-free block, creating a 24-hour full-time vitality below 24 meters. The new model of the future space of Bagualing.
